Who I am

Roman White is the trading name of Roman Smetanin, a sole trader based in Cardiff, UK. I'm responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach me at [email protected].

What I collect

When you send a request through a form on this site, I get what you type in: your name, email, phone number if you give it, business name, the service you're asking about and your message. I also see which country the request came from, based on your IP address. I don't store the IP address itself.

If you write to me by email or through social media, I get your message and the contact details you used.

Why I use it

I use your details to reply to your request, to prepare a proposal if you ask for one, and to do the work if we agree on it. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in answering enquiries and, once we start working together, the steps needed to enter into and carry out a contract with you.

I don't send newsletters or marketing messages unless you ask for them, and I never sell your data.

Where it is stored and who else sees it

Form requests are stored with Cloudflare, which hosts this site. A copy reaches my email (Google) and a short notification reaches my phone. These providers process data on my behalf and may store it outside the UK under standard safeguards.

The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers when a page opens.

How long I keep it

Form requests are deleted automatically 12 months after they arrive. If you become a client, I keep invoices and related records for as long as UK tax law requires, usually six years.

Cookies

This site doesn't use cookies for analytics or advertising, and it doesn't track you across other sites.

Your rights

You can ask me for a copy of your data, ask me to correct or delete it, or object to how I use it. Email [email protected] and I'll reply within one month.

If you're unhappy with how I handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
